What UWC students get
Every room is fitted with a bed, desk, wardrobe and Wi-Fi. Sharing rooms are gender-allocated for comfort and privacy. Buildings are managed 24/7 with access control and CCTV, and on-site laundry means you never have to leave for the basics. Bursary-funded students are welcome — note we are not yet NSFAS-accredited.
What it really costs to live near campus
Rent is only part of the budget. Because campus, the station and the shops are all within a few minutes of the residence, transport is usually a small cost for our residents, and Wi-Fi, water and security are already in the rent. When you compare a cheaper room further out, add the daily taxi or train fare and separate data costs before deciding.
How to secure a bed near UWC
Submit your online application with proof of UWC registration or funding, ID, and next-of-kin details. Approvals happen within 24–72 hours, and you'll sign your lease digitally. Beds fill fast during registration weeks — apply early to secure your placement.
